This is a short-field takeoff with a left downwind departure in a C-172S G1000. I also recorded and added the all the communications between our Cessna, Hawthorne tower and everybody else talking to the Hawthorne tower. You can tell that once on downwind, just prior to departure, my CFII tells me to put my hood (foggles) on. Most of the rest of the flight was done with foggles. The takeoff itself is just as interesting as any other takeoff on youtube, but it really is enhanced by all the radio traffic going around, and this is just a small airport in the LA area. Being an ATC is not the most stressful job in the world for no reason. Even so, they are usually very friendly and comply with most of our requests, even in one of the busiest areas in the world. A big thank you goes out to all you Southern Cali ATC's.
